Passengers should be aware of the planned engineering works that will cause disruption to some TransPennine Express train services in our area during May and June.
Significant engineering work is planned between Huddersfield and Leeds as part of the TransPennine Route Upgrade (TRU). There will be two separate engineering blockades running back to back, and will impact many of the same routes.
These blocks are:
Bradley Junction Blockade (between Deighton & Mirfield) 2 May-26 May 2026
Dewsbury and Batley Blockade 30 May-27 June 2026
During these dates, some services will remaining running with alterations, while others will have rail replacement bus services. It will impact routes close to our lines, including services from Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport.
We’d advise passengers planning to travel during these dates on services that start/end at Manchester Piccadilly to check details and service changes on the TransPennine Express website to avoid disruption: Travel Updates | Live Train Times | TransPennine Express
