Walkaday

Walkaday

Walkaday is a scheme that offers friendly, guided, group walks exploring local parks and green spaces.

We’re trying to encourage everyone to get walking, even if you’ve never really done it before. It’s a chance to explore and enjoy some of the best outdoor spaces in Stockport, Cheshire and Derbyshire.

Each walk is paced to suit the needs of everyone in the group, no matter your fitness level and experience. We’d encourage you to try it out – you never know what you might discover!

There’s lots of useful information as well as links to sign up to individual walks on this website.

Important information for walkers

Important information for walkers

For insurance and health purposes we’ll take a registration list of those on the walk. Please bring your own pen or pencil for this.

No dogs are allowed on the walks and all children or vulnerable adults will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult.

You’ll also need to bring:

  • your bus pass or senior railcard if you want to use them
  • lunch for walks on a Wednesday or Friday and money for refreshments on any walk
  • suitable shoes, as path surfaces can be uneven
  • suitable clothing for weather conditions
  • any medication you may be taking
  • enthusiasm!
