The Crewe to Manchester Community Rail Partnership (C2MCRP) is a partnership made up of train operators, local authorities and station friends of groups all of which work together with the aim of improving station environments along the Crewe to Manchester line, encouraging travel by train and for local communities to become more involved with their local stations. Our volunteers help us to better connect with local people to make the railway more relevant to them. Volunteers also act as the eyes and ears on the ground, talking to station users and reporting faults.

Crewe to Manchester CRP works with schools, community groups and voluntary groups on varies projects to improve the appearance of stations and help overcome the barriers to rail travel that some experience. C2MCRP also works to promote local visitor attractions and sustainable travel to/from stations through a variety of walking guides produced by a number of the station Friends of Groups 

Crewe to Manchester CRP is managed by a number of volunteers with a wealth of railway knowledge and experience, representatives of train operators partners and local authorities. Our main train operator partner is Northern Trains Ltd but we also work with a number of other train operator partners including: Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, Trans Pennine Express. Our local authority partners include: Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, Cheshire East Council with a number of Cheshire East Parish Councils representing their local areas. 

The Community Rail Officers are hosted by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council.  

There are over 70 community rail partnerships and 1,200 station friends of groups across Britain, which are supported and represented by the umbrella organisation, Community Rail Network.
