The RMT Union has instructed its members at CrossCountry to take strike action on Saturday 18 October and Saturday 1 November. This will have a significant impact on train services during these days. Passengers are advised to check the timetables and expect busier, less frequent services.
There will be a very limited timetable operating between 6am and 6pm, with some services to finish earlier than 6pm. There will be fewer trains running than usual and these are expected to be busier. CrossCountry plans to run each service as two trains together to increase seat availability.
On some services, certain stops will be missed out when there are alternative services that provide connections to try and reduce crowding on CrossCounty services. In our area, the main change to be aware of is the reduction of services between Birmingham and Manchester to just two-hourly.
The revised timetable can be viewed online, where passengers can also find suggestions of alternative travel arrangements, advice on re-booking tickets or obtaining a refund.
