WORK BEGINS ON NEW STATION GARDEN AT GOOSTREY
29th April 2008
Goostrey station has been brightened by a new floral selection planted by local Guides, Scouts and volunteers over the weekend of 24-25th April.
The flowers, which have been provided by local garden centre Hassall's were planted by Goostrey Scouts, Guides and volunteers by the entrance to the Crewe-bound platform of the station. The project was funded by the Crewe-Manchester Community Rail Partnership, Cheshire Crimebeat, VisitCheshire and Northern Rail, as part of an initiative to improve stations along the Crewe-Manchester line and raise the profile of Cheshire Year of Gardens 2008.
Robert Morton, Community Rail Officer for the Rail Partnership commented "This is a good example of the community working together and has made an immediate impact on the appearance of the station".
