HOLMES CHAPEL STATION GARDEN PROJECT UPDATE

The installation of plants and regular litter picks have helped to improve the environment at the station and the volunteers' dilligent work has been really appreciated by rail staff and passengers alike.
Graham Blake, ticket office clerk at Holmes Chapel acknowledged the work carried out at the station: 'I would like to show my appreciation from myself and all at Northern Rail for all the hard work that Geoffrey and Rob, the station gardening team have put in to make the station flower beds look fantastic this summer.
Not only did the gardening team replace all the old perished flowers from the front wooden flower beds the hanging baskets and created a brand new bed on the Manchester platform . they have kept the station clean & tidy with weekly litter picks & the brushing of the waiting shelters.
The station gardening team are always looking for extra help from volunteers so if you feel you could assist, please contact Geoffrey on 07973225284 or Graham on 01477 533 914.
The team work on Tuesday or Thursday mornings once a fortnight and will soon be ready to plant the new winter pansies and do some work in the booking hall & under the bridge on the Manchester platform.'
