FIVE IDEAS FOR EASTER DAYS OUT
8th March 2010

1. Stockport Easterfeast, Saturday 3rd April, 10am - 4pm, Stockport Town Centre.  This free event will feature a giant Easter egg hunt, arts & crafts workshops, cookery demonstrations, street theatre and farmyard animals.  For further details download the Easterfeast leaflet.

2. Visit Concorde and the Manchester Airport visitor centre and viewing park.  Over the Easter weekend, there will be afternoon tours of Concorde (advance booking recommended), bouncy castle, Treasure Hunt and Crafts Activities.  For further information visit the Concorde and Airport visitor centre website.  There are hourly services Monday-Saturday from Crewe via Wilmslow to Manchester Airport, and from Wilmslow rail station, bus 200 now operates hourly at xx:55 past each hour every day directly to the Aviation Viewing Park and Visitor Centre (calls at xx:16 past each hour at the Airport station).

3. Visit Quarry Bank Mill, Styal.  Quarry Bank Mill will be organising Easter-themed trails around the grounds.  Quarry Bank Mill can be accessed by Styal station, where there are trains several times a day (once every 2 hours on Sundays) and the hourly bus service 200, to Manchester Airport and Wilmslow station.  Visitors with valid train or bus ticket get to visit the Secret Garden or Apprentice House for free when purchasing a main ticket.

4. Visit Crewe Heritage Centre.  Crewe Heritage Centre opens for 2010 over the Easter weekend.  The season starts in style with a 1980s themed weekend, featuring diesel and electric locomotives in blue British Rail livery, together with a number of model rail layouts, vintage buses and even real ale served, courtesy of CAMRA.  For further information visit the Crewe Heritage Centre website.  Visitors to the Heritage Centre with valid train tickets benefit from a buy one get one free offer on the admission price.

5. Visit Stockport Air Raid Shelters, Staircase House and Bramall Hall - kids go free over Easter!  Take advantage of this fantastic offer, enabling up to three children to go for free from 27th March to 11th April when accompanied by a paying adult at the Air Raid Shelters, Staircase House and Bramall Hall.   The Air Raid Shelters and Staircase House are within an easy walking distance of Stockport train station, and Bramall Hall is a pleasant mile and half walk from Cheadle Hulme station.
