Alderley Edge: The wooded escarpment from which the village takes its name is a fascinating place to explore with its history, legends and panoramic views. Quarry Bank Mill and Styal Country Park (nearest station - Styal): One of the premier heritage tourist attractions in the North West, Quarry Bank Mill and Styal Country Park makes an excellent day out. Visitors with valid rail and/or bus ticket can visit the Apprentice House or Secret Garden free of charge when purchasing a main entrance ticket. Manchester Airport - Runway Visitor Park and Concorde: The newly refurbished visitors centre at Manchester Airport is free of charge for visitors arriving by public transport. Bramall Hall (nearest station - Cheadle Hulme): Bramall Hall is a beautiful black-and-white timbered building set in attractive grounds. Stockport - Art Gallery, Hatworks, Air Raid Shelters and Staircase House: All of these attractions are within easy walking distance of the train station and can also be accessed by using the free Town Centre Shuttle bus.
