CHELFORD PRIMARY SCHOOL ENJOYS FREE TRAIN TRIP TO MANCHESTER
13th November 2008
On Thursday 13th November, 15 Year Five and Six pupils from Chelford travelled into Manchester by train with free train tickets supplied by the Crewe to Manchester Community Rail Partnership.
Once at Piccadilly they took the free Metroshuttle Bus to Quay Street and walked the few yards along to the Museum of Science and Industry. The school visited the Underground Manchester Exhibition, the Air and Space Hall, Bridgewater Canal and learned about the worlds first passenger railway.
Mrs Pauline Hales from Chelford Primary School commented, 'The trip was excellent and all the children relished the train travel'. A second visit to the Imperial War Museum is planned for January with free tickets again provided by the Community Rail Partnership.
If you are aware of any school that would be interested in taking advantage of the opportunity for free train travel for their next trip, please contact the Community Rail Partnership on 0161 218 1515.
