Heaton Chapel Station Improvement drop-in event

15th November 2016

Customers of Heaton Chapel station may already be aware of the significant damage to the roof of the stairway leading to platform two, and subsequent closure and removal of the access route roof to platform one. The cause of the incident (which happened earlier this year) was due to a build-up of water, leading to irreparable damage.

Network Rail and Northern will be working closely to carry out full repair in order for customers to once again use this link. The improvements are planned to start in early 2017 and will be completed by spring 2017, in addition to the roof repair there will also be wider improvement.

Northern and Network Rail would like to invite people to attend a community drop-in event on Wednesday 30th November 2016, 16:00- 19:00 at the Moor Club, 35 Heaton Moor Road, Stockport, SK4 4PB, where representatives from Northern and Network Rail will be attending.

At this drop-in event details of plans on the station will be discussed and any questions you may have will be answered. The event has been arranged in partnership with Friends of Heaton Chapel station. Members from the group will also be available to discuss their plans for improving and promoting the station.

Refreshments will be provided!
